The Grand Opening: From McGill station to Deux-Montagnes station, the REM network opens its doors for an open house weekend. But here's where it gets exciting... You'll get to explore all 14 brand-new stations!
A Festive Affair: Expect a vibrant atmosphere with surprises tailored for the entire family. REM teams will be on-site, ready to greet you and address any queries you might have.
Official Commissioning: As part of the grand opening, the REM Deux-Montagnes branch will operate on a special schedule:
- Deux-Montagnes to Central Station: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Central Station to Brossard: Regular service
Free Access: In a unique arrangement with ARTM, CDPQ Infra offers free network access during this period. However, reaching REM stations via public transit incurs the standard fare.
Bikes and Pets, Take Note: Due to anticipated crowds, bicycles and animals are unfortunately not permitted on the REM during the open house.
Getting There: Most REM stations are conveniently accessible by foot, bike, public transit, or car. We recommend these options due to expected high traffic. McGill station connects to the metro via the green line, while Édouard-Montpetit station links to the blue line.
Strike Alert: Be aware that potential strikes by the Syndicat du transport de Montréal and the Syndicat des chauffeurs, opérateurs et employés des services connexes could disrupt bus and metro services from October 31st to November 28th, including November 1, 15, and 16. Plan your journey accordingly.
