Exciting News in the Hockey World! The South Carolina Stingrays have just announced a remarkable achievement that’s sure to capture the attention of hockey fans everywhere. Forward Josh Wilkins has been honored as the Inglasco ECHL Player of the Week for the period from December 8 to December 14.
In an impressive display of skill, Wilkins accumulated a total of seven points over four games, scoring four goals and providing three assists. His standout performance included a thrilling hat trick and an assist during a decisive 6-1 victory against the Orlando team on Wednesday. He didn’t stop there; he also contributed a goal and an assist in a closely contested 4-3 win over Greenville on Friday, followed by an assist in a challenging 5-3 loss to Jacksonville on Saturday.
At just 28 years old, Wilkins hails from Raleigh, North Carolina, and this season, he has made quite an impact, registering 20 points (10 goals and 10 assists) in 20 games played.
Throughout his professional career, Wilkins has demonstrated consistent excellence, boasting a total of 178 points (73 goals and 105 assists) across 183 ECHL games with teams such as South Carolina and Florida. Additionally, he has earned 20 points (6 goals and 14 assists) during his tenure in the American Hockey League, playing for Milwaukee and Tucson. His international experience is notable as well, with 27 points (14 goals and 13 assists) accrued over 57 games with various teams in Sweden and Slovakia.
In celebration of this achievement, Inglasco, the exclusive puck supplier for the ECHL, will be donating a case of pucks to the Charleston Youth Hockey Association on behalf of Josh Wilkins. This generous initiative aligns with Inglasco's commitment to supporting youth hockey programs, having donated over 53,000 pucks to organizations based in ECHL cities since the inception of this award in the 2000-01 season.
