A cloud of worry hangs over Uganda's dance community as they desperately search for Virginia, a vibrant young dancer who has vanished without a trace.
This week, the dance fraternity is united in a desperate plea for information regarding the whereabouts of Vanessa Namanja, affectionately known as Virginia. This talented 22-year-old, one half of the dynamic dance duo Mayani and Virginia, has been missing since last week, leaving her family, friends, and fellow performers in a state of anxious uncertainty.
Her dance partner, Mayanni, shared his last encounter with Virginia. He last saw her on Tuesday, October 21st, 2025, in the afternoon. The news of her disappearance the following day came as a complete shock.
"I last saw Virginia around 1 pm on Tuesday," Mayanni revealed. "Her best friend called me on Wednesday to tell me that she had left home, and her mother was looking for her."
But here's where it gets complicated... Virginia's movements since then have been reported across multiple locations, adding layers of complexity to the search. She was reportedly seen in Kamwokya on Tuesday and then in Kitende on Wednesday. These scattered sightings have prompted a widespread search involving Virginia's family, friends, and the wider dance community.
"We were told that she was seen around Acacia Mall in Kamwokya," Mayanni explained. "On Wednesday, we received another report that she was seen near the Stabex Fuel Station in Kitende, in a Ragius. That was the last confirmed sighting."
Virginia is described as a 22-year-old light-skinned female with long dreadlocks. She was last seen wearing a hoodie. Anyone with information about her location is urged to contact +256772840213.
